My Family
Hello, and welcome to my website all about me and my family. My name is Theresa Hampton-Whitehead nee Hampton. I have been married to Lee since 2006, but have many years together previous to that. We have 2 wonderful children together, Jake and Sophie. I won’t say too much about them as they have their own pages for their ’stuff’.
I work as the Office Manager for a charity bringing business and education together in the form of mock interviews, enterpise challenges, preparation for work experience and placements for teachers. I love the work I do, I feel it adds value to the community and especially young people. Recently I have moved into helping other areas of the business. I am now getting more involved in setting up and running PDP’s (Professional Development Placements) for teachers. These enable teachers to come out of school and visit a workplace to see how things are done or have changed and improved over the years to enhance their teaching in the classroom.
Lee is a very knowledgable IT professional, currently working for BT, but looking as most people do. His role in the IT industry has changed over the years, to a position where he is now not so much dealing hands on with technology. This agravates him most of the time as he enjoys the tinkering.
In my spare time, I like to go into my garden and tend to my plants. There is not many out there at the moment, I have had a couple of years where the enthusiasm for it has gone for various reasons, but I like colour and I like variety in my garden. I am not a good weedkiller though so we only have lawn and pots. We are hoping to completely revamp our garden in 3 years time (2012) I can’t wait. The garden is looking very tired at the moment, so a makeover will be the order of the day. Sophie and Jake have their trampoline out there, and when it is all done I am looking forward to having a green house so that I can grow from seed, which is what I used to do until the past 2 years or so. Lee and Sophie are growing carrots and strawberrys at the moment, I am very excited to try them.
I am a collector of the Lord of the Rings figures. I have been collecting them for 5 years and they have recently been put up in our office as there was more shelf space up there. I also collect china dolls, but they are packed away at the moment as we have nowhere to put them, but once the extension is done, we will have somewhere to house them. I also like candles, but only partylite. Luckily I have a friend who is a representative of patylite so I can get anything I need without having to find a party to order. There are candles all over the house, I like to have a bath on a Sunday evening when the kids are in bed and Lee has gone to the pub, light the candles and just have some me time. It does not always work out that way though, depending on what we have been up to, I could be having to get the uniforms ready or my lunch or something.
